Top Menu > Learn about ReplayDIRECTOR > What is ReplayDIRECTOR?

ReplayDIRECTOR is a transparent and seamless recording system that can be applied to almost any software application. Much like TiVo, ReplayDIRECTOR is an always-on solution that runs in the background, recording everything that occurs as an application is running.

Whenever something of interest occurs, such as an application defect, that event and the sequence of events that led to the defect can be quickly and easily replayed to identify and resolve the root cause of the issue.

ReplayDIRECTOR captures and records all inputs to a Java application as it is executing - user input through mouse and keyboard, network traffic, values returned from operating system calls, hardware interrupts - and enables replay of the exact sequence, without the need to recreate the original environment in which the recording was made, and without any modifications to source code.
